Joy Clair Hugs and Smiles Stamps

I’m excited to be a part of the Joy Clair Design Team and every time I play with one of their new stamp sets, I get even more thrilled.  The team at Joy Clair produces great images that really lend themselves to a wide variety of uses.  Whether you’re creating a simple card, like I did today with watercolors, creating a mixed media project, or using the images and sentiments for scrapbooking, you’re sure to find sojoy_clair_cindy_dooley_hugs_and_smiles_closemething you’ll like on the website.

For today’s post, I used the Joy Clair Hugs and Smiles stamp set.  This set has a ton of sentiment combinations, perfect for Valentine’s Day or a simple “love you” card.

I thought the ranunculus made a great focal image for my card, so I used it twice, and paired them with two sentiments, the lower case font and the swoopy handwriting font. I stamped the images on the smooth side of Ranger Watercolor Cardstock using Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. The flowers seemed a perfect time for me to pull out my Van Gogh by Royal Talens watercolors and play. I was having so much fun, I started adding splatters to the card front. I finished it up with a fishtail flag and a bow made from some black Hemptique. I added the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black after the watercolors and splatters were dry.  I layered the card front on a piece of Bazzill Blackberry Swirl Smoothie (my go-to black cardstock), then layered that on a scrap of black and white pattern paper from my stash.  The card base was also made from the black Bazzill cardstock and I left the inside blank so I can add a personal note inside using a white gel pen. This was a really simple card and took me less than 15 minutes to finish.

Make sure you check out Joy Clair Stamps.  I’m sure you’ll find something there you’ll love!
